Submission instructions

Young researchers (pre- and post-doctoral)

We will invite 15 predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers to attend the workshop.

The workshop has no registration fees and full board accommodation expenses will be covered for successful applicants by grants from the EU and the Franco-German University.

Candidates are kindly requested to send through our submission system no later than May 13, 2024 [final deadline]:

  1. Abstract for an oral presentation (300 words)
  2. Brief letter of motivation (300-400 words)
  3. Currículum vitae (1 page)
  4. A letter of recommendation (optional)

Abstract submission is compulsory to participate in the workshop.

Please note that, in the submission form, the abstract can be filled in, while the other documents must be attached as files.

Limited travel support is also available for young participants. Applicants needing travel support must succintly justify their request in the letter of motivation.

Notification of acceptance is due on late May 2024.

Master students

We will invite 3 talented and motivated Master students to attend the workshop.

A student grant will be awarded to the selected candidates to cover the full expenses of the conference (travel, accommodation and meals).

Applicants should be pursuing a master's degree in computational mechanics, applied mathematics, (bio)physics/engineering or related field. No previous experience in the topic is required, but will be appreciated. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong motivation to discover the topics of the workshop and interest in pursuing a career in this research field.

Master students are kindly requested to send through our abstract submission system no later than May 13, 2024 [final deadline]:

  1. Brief letter of motivation (300-400 words)
  2. Currículum vitae (1 page)
  3. A letter of recommendation
  4. Proof of enrolment in a Master's degree

The required documents must be attached as PDF files during step 3: "File(s)".

Filling an abstract in the submission form is optional, but warmly encouraged. Master students can submit an abstract for:

  • A regular talk, related to the workshop topics, in the technical sessions, or
  • An off-topic short talk for the Speaker's corner session (see Programme), about their Master thesis and/or internship or another scientific topic of their choice.

Otherwise, if not willing to present, enter "Master submission" in the title and abstract field and skip to the next step.

Notification of acceptance is due on late May 2024.
